This year we are exploring the role of media in WW1. We will be addressing crucial questions about how the media shaped the efforts of the war and consider how war reporting has changed over the years.
2014 brings great freedom to journalists but the role of the civilian has transformed as well. In a world where citizen journalism shapes traditional news reporting, the online digital age privileges the reader who is now an active producer of the media as well; making them incredibly powerful.
But the freedom we now have brings great responsibility as well as as opportunity... it raises questions we should all consider:
Who is telling you what to think?
Who is shaping your understanding of the world around you?
If the technology we have today was around in 1914, would WW1 have ever happened?
Please enjoy reading and interacting with our blog.
